Our Founder + Story
Urban Red Design was founded in 2010 by Barbara Kaufman. Barbara has been hailed as a uniquely skilled executive designer, architect, and project manager credited with delivering transformational commercial and residential architecture and design projects throughout New York City and the trip-state area. Major institutional clients including Pace University (NYC Master Plan), Columbia University, New York University, and Beth Israel, St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals. She has deep skill and experience in architecture, high end interior design, construction, sustainability, operations, facilities, project management, planning, and real estate development. She consistently meets high quality standards and achieves exceptional levels of client satisfaction.
Under Barbara’s direction, Urban Red Design provides architecture, interior design, project management and owner’s representative services as part of full-service offerings spanning site evaluation, space design, co-op/condo approval process, contractor bidding, and interior design. Services may also include purchasing of furniture, plumbing, tiles, hardware, lighting, linens, as well as directing of final move in. Urban Red specializes in high-end residential and commercial projects.
